More about Alderney
Alderney, the third largest of the Channel Islands, is just 3.5 miles (5km) long and 1.5 miles (3km) wide and has a permanent population of around 2,400. It is the most northerly Channel Island and is the nearest to both the United Kingdom and France, the latter being only 8 miles away.
Alderney is a self-governing, democratic territory and one of the constituent islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. It has its own independent judiciary, a stable government, and also has an expanding international finance industry.
Alderney offers all the advantages of an offshore business and finance centre with access to the latest IT and telecommunications facilities, as well as offering a modern "user friendly" company law.
Alderney is not part of the European Union and therefore offers important tax advantages:
Companies and individuals pay a maximum 20% tax on income and profits and, from 2008, the income tax paid by companies will be reduced to zero.
There is no separate corporation tax, no capital gains, no capital transfer, and no value added tax (VAT/TVA).
There are no taxes on exempt companies carrying on business outside the island and no taxes on trusts whose beneficiaries live outside the island For more information regarding the Island of Alderney please visit www.alderney.gov.gg or click any of the following titles for a direct link to the specific subject:
